Munich Re: A great place to work

In 2006, Munich Re and the Group’s direct insurer KarstadtQuelle took part in a competition run by the Great Place to Work® Institute to find "Deutschlands Beste Arbeitgeber" (Germany’s best employers). Both finished among the top 50.

Munich Re’s Human Resources regards itself as a partner in transition. Committed to creating optimum working conditions for the Group’s more than 37,000 employees, its task is a complex one in a top-performing company relying on the skill and judgment of dedicated staff to achieve corporate objectives.

Credibility, respect, fairness, pride and team spirit ...

... were the five criteria on which employees were consulted in the quest to find Germany’s best employers. These, together with a strong personal identification with the job and with the Group and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence, are the principles that shape Munich Re’s corporate culture and account for our success. Human resources and leadership programmes and measures were also assessed.

Sustainable corporate strategy successful

Munich Re has enjoyed a consistently low staff turnover rate for many years – proof that it is an attractive employer. Management and staff are bound by ties of fairness and loyalty. Everyone plays a part in creating a harmony between words and deeds, objectives and results.

That our employees also place such enormous trust in us because they identify with our ethics of good governance motivates us to carry on investing in the quality of Human Resources worldwide.
