The companies of the Munich Re Group act prudently, providently and responsibly. Sustainability is an integral part of Group strategy. Our efforts are having perceptible effect – both internally and externally. Receiving an award for this both confirms the validity of our efforts and motivates us to maintain them in the future.

Eco-Manager of the Year 2007
Word Wildlife Fund (WWF) Germany and the business magazine Capital honoured Nikolaus von Bomhard as Eco-Manager of the Year 2007. The jury praised the Munich Re Group’s pioneering research work on climate change and its unflagging efforts to promote global counteraction.
Munich Re America receives Green Commute Award
Munich Re America received an award in October 2007 for its outstanding efforts to promote the use of environment-friendly means of transport. The award was presented by the non-profit organisation Greater Mercer TMA.
KarstadtQuelle Versicherungen and Munich Re among the top 50 employers
Based on the results of the 2007 Great Place to Work survey, KarstadtQuelle Versicherungen and Munich Re were awarded the “Germany’s Best Employers 2007” seal of quality. KarstadtQuelle Versicherungen is the first primary insurer to be ranked among Germany’s top 50 employers.
Victoria writes the best environmental statement
In the 2001/2002 German Environmental Reporting Awards, Victoria was awarded 1st place in the category Best Environmental Statement. The jury found that Victoria had presented its externally audited environmental protection performance thoroughly and clearly, achieving a standard well above that of conventional environmental reports.
Victoria wins Best Practice Award
Victoria was the only German company among the thirteen award winners at the First EMAS Conference held in June 2002. The award was given in recognition of Victoria’s environmental management system, which implements the EU’s Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) regulation in exemplary fashion.
